Less than a week after
the attacks and the smoke hung in the air
(you can see it in a few of the photos) as the fires still burned a few blocks
away. The
streets were pretty much cleaned up of debris, but still dusty, and the military
and the
NYPD had cordoned off most of the streets and sidewalks, so that we
had to walk single file under the scrutiny of the national guard people.
